Tubes in, adenoids out

The day before her first birthday Isabella had surgery. It's been a crazy winter with little sleep, lots of meds and doctor visits and breathing treatments. We are hopeful that the tubes and adenoids will help our sweet girl feel so much better and stay healthy. She had several ear infections between September and November. Each time she ended an antibiotic she would get another ear infection. In December she got bronchilitus and an ear infection. This meant a breathing machine and some stronger antibiotics delivered via shots.
Sweet girl only got worse and ended up with full blown bronchitis and a new inhaler. This meant postponing surgery for a few days and a steroid.

Surgery was on the 23rd.
We snuggled and rested lots the day of surgery. The next morning we woke up and she was wheezing a little but seemed happy. We went to my parents house to pick up isaiah and she started gasping for breath. We went to the ER and got a breathing treatment. Diagnosed with a bronchial spasm and we will be watching her and praying for no asthma in her future.
Not a fun way to spend your first birthday but hopefully we are welcoming a healthy year 2.
The love and support we have received from so many amazing people has really touched my heart. I have had friends and family keep Isaiah, girlfriends to lift me up and encourage me when I was ready to snap, prayers and phone calls and texts from friends, family and our awesome Sunday school class, so many meals delivered while we weren't sleeping which was such a blessing for this tired momma, a friend put together decor and supplies for Isabella's birthday party and the gift of laughter. Through this time I truly felt God's love for me and he sent it through these amazing people. Thank you to everyone who helped out and prayed us through this. I am so blessed to have such awesome people in my life. Thank you, thank you, thank you. You have really touched my heart and pulled me through a crazy time.

One Year Young

Isabella Jane how can you be one already?  You have brought so much joy and love to our family.  Your happiness is calming and contagious.
Weight: 20.8 pounds
Length: 29 1/4 inches
Words you say: mama, dada, zay-uh (isaiah), bye, hey, baba (bottle), done done (all done), es (yes), uh oh
Things you do:  walking, going up and down stairs, clap your hands, give kisses, high fives and you have started using a spoon and fork
Favorite food: hands down, PIZZA. Just like your Daddy
Eating:  because you have been sick we are still sticking with soy formula and you are a great eater. Not really picky and you usually finish what I give you.
Sleeping:  hopefully getting tubes will help a lot with this. You still wake up several times a night.
Isaiah and Cappy love to sing to you "you're so pretty, oh so pretty".
You are jealous of isaiah if he sits in my lap. I think it's cute.

Teeth:  you only had your two bottom teeth when you hit 11 months. At 12 months you have a whopping 8 teeth!  It's been a busy month for you.
